Tuesday 2/24

Well I am blogging again. I can't believe it's been two weeks. I was looking at my past blogs and I am not seeing dates so I thought I would include it now cause of course I could not really figure out how to add it and I lost patience.
Chris' birthday was on Valentines day. We had a nice evening. He got me some lovely tulips and chocolates. I took him out to Valle Luna that night because everything is so busy every where else. On Sunday night we went to Benihanna's. His mom and stepdad came up from Tucson. My friends Nancy and Steve came. Kirk was there and so was my friend Craig. We had a wonderful time. I really think we need to get big groups together more often and go out. Benihana's is awfully expensive but we don't have to go there.

I worked on Sunday so I have off til Thursday. It is so nice not to have to go in tomorrow. I love it!

Last night I went to Book Club. Our new book this month is Sara's Keys. It is about Jews during the Holocaust. I will tell you more when I get it in the mail. I ordered it from Amazon today.

Well that is all for now.

Friday

I don't really have too much to say again today but I have some time so I thought I would add a new post.
Yesterday was very slow at work again. I am busy today but slow again tomorrow. I have not been hit too hard by this bad economy yet and I am sure hoping this is just a bad week. It worries me to think how bad it can get. I depend on rich people! I am so thankful Chris and I did not sell this townhouse and move to a more expensive home. I was very close to doing it a few years ago. At least I know if things get too bad we can both afford this place. There is not much I can do about it except try not to spend too much money right now.....which adds to the bad economy since everyone else is doing the same thing.
I was supposed to babysit last night and she canceled. I was not disappointed about not having to go over there, it was nice coming home and having dinner with Chris but I was kindof counting on the money. Oh well, I will make more this Saturday night. I also have a customer that asked me to come to her house this weekend to do a mani/pedi on her sister. My Customer, Krista, has been going thru Chemo and her sister is here this week to help her out (she had another round of chemo this week and it is always hardest on her right after) and she does not think her sister will leave her to come over and get a service so she thought it would be nice to have me over. Which I am all for cause then I get to keep all the money and not split it with the Spa. But I need to learn not to count on the money til I have it in my hands. We will see what happens.

Thursday

Another day in Paradise. The weather has been so pretty here lately it does not seem fair to be at work....plus yesterday was so slow!!!!!!! I did get to have my hair done professionally for a change and boy does it look good. Jenny colored it yesterday and and put highlights in. I just keep looking at it and say "it's so pretty" Well, if it stays this slow at work it should not be a problem to get someone to color it. I also got my face waxed. I have become really addicted to not having a mustache. I even have her go in and wax the inside of my nose....just around the nostrils. I love having them do my eyebrows too. On a sad note....I needed my chin done alittle too!!!!!!
Last night I went to the Wine tasting at Bacchus with Linda. She is a client but also teaches spin and muscle conditioning classes so she is also an coworker and friend. we had a good time. We are going to try to do that together once a month.

Well that is all for now. Tonight I will be babysitting so at least I will make some money this week!!!!!!

Tuesday night

Hello.
Well my weekend is over for this week. It was a nice one but pretty uneventful. I am sorry I can not say the Cardinals won the super bowl. It was a fun game and thankfully they did not get creamed and I am hearing it was one of the most exciting Super Bowls in history. I actually think I might be enjoying football alittle bit. I have come to understand some of it. I am sure by next season I will have not interest but it was kindof fun while it lasted.
Monday Chris and I went to breakfast and to the mall. We really did not do much. I am reading "Jane Eyre" right now and I have been reading alot the last few days. I am going to try to read a few more of the classics. Even though I did not love "Madame Bovary" I think I want to read more. I have "Pride and Prejudice" to read and I think I want to read "Wuthering Heights" We are reading the "Jane Austen Book Club" for our monthly book club but I am not sure I will read it. Maybe I will borrow it from my sister Pris. She told me she has read it and it was ok. We picked that book because the last few months all the books were so dark.
Today I went to yoga and then read all afternoon. This is a good thing since I have been watching way too much TV and the last few days I have not.
Tomorrow I am going to a wine tasting at Bacchus Wine Studio with my friend Linda. Thursday I am sitting for Sheila and then again on Saturday.
Not much else to say.

addition to last post

I meant to answer your question about the wine Patricia but I forgot and I have no idea how to go back an edit this blog....aol was much easier in so many ways. Anyway.....I have no idea what the vineyard was for the wine tastings. I am one of those people that just goes to taste. Some people sit there and jot down notes about the wines and really get into it. I just enjoy the wines. I hardly ever buy a bottle of wine more that $10 or $12, and usually not even that much.

Wow Thursday already

Good Morning. I had a really nice weekend. It seems weired to talk about it now since it have been over for a day.
Sunday I went to see "Revolutionary Road" with Betty for her birthday. We went to lunch first at Wildflower Bread company. I sat outside for a bit while I was waiting for her. It was so beautiful. It has actually gotten a little chilly again the last few days but that day was perfect. Sunny with a cool breeze, my favorite. Anyway, the movie was just OK. I really was not blown away with it at all. It was about two very dysfunctional people who were very unhappy. The acting was very good though.
Monday Chris and I went on a hike at Lookout Mountain. It was either a really tough hike or a was super tired. I did not enjoy it like I usually do. After that I had to go to a private yoga session with Harmony. I was so tired but I think that saved me cause I was not a sore from the hike as I think I would have been. I had book club Monday night. That is always a nice evening. We read "The Road" this month. It is a bleak, dark book but was very good. They are making a movie that should be released soon.
Tuesday I did not wake up til 8:30. It felt good to sleep but I am always so spacey for a while after I get up so late. Anyway, I went to the movies with Layne that afternoon to see "Slumdog Millionaire" . This movie is getting so much acclaim and everyone was saying how wonderful it is I think it ruined it for me a bit. I was not overly impressed with that one too. It was good but I just think I was expecting to be blown away and I was not.
"The Reader" and "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" were my favorites lately.
I am babysitting tonight. Not much more to say about that. In fact not much more to say about anything.

Thursday

Monday I went t othe movis and saw "The reader". It was so good. I could not stop thinking about it for hours. I am still thinking about it.
Tuesday Chris and I met Joe and Sara for lunch. We met in Scottsdale at Chili's. It was just nice to sit there and talk to them. I need to make sure that happens more often.
Last night I met Tammy for a wine tasting. It was a nice little wine bar in Scottsdale. They did not pour nearly as heavy as the tasting I went to last week....which was good cause I had to drive home. I bought a bottle to take to Nancy and Steves this weekend. They are having us over for dinner.
Well, that is all for now!

Monday morning

It has been so beautiful here. Just fabulous weather. Yesterday I had the doors open all day. It has been like this all week. It is funny that every year we get weather like this and everyone panics and says "it's too soon to be this warm". It's only January for Gods sake, it's not going to stay this warm we should just enjoy it. February is usually pretty chilly so I predict cooler weather soon.
I babysat a few times this week. Easy and enjoyable way to make that extra money. I will have enough saved soon for my New York trip. I am going in April with Betty. I will stay with my brother and Betty is going to stay in a hotel. She wants to take a train to Connecticut and rent a car so she can see where she grew up. I will stay with my brother Greg for two nights and then Betty and I will take a train to DC together and spend three nights there. That is not til April, it would be nice to go someplace with Chris before that.
It sure was exciting having the Cardinals win yesterday. It will be fun around here the next couple of weeks waiting for them play in the Super Bowl. A good Super Bowl party will be fun this year. I need to find out if anyone is having any. I would like to have one but our TV is way too small no one would want to come here for it. I don't even like football but it makes it fun when you have someone to root for.
Not much going on today. I have a private yoga lesson at 2pm today. I might go to the movies afterward. I want to see Slumdog Millionaire and The Reader! I will see one of those today or tomorrow.
Tomorrow I am meeting Joe and Sara for lunch. That will be nice. I need to go see there new apartment.
Well that's all for now...............more coffee!!!!!!

Wednesday

Hello! I just got back from my wine tasting at Bacchus Wine Studio. It was very nice. I love wine. I ate way too much cheese and bread. So much for no wine during the week.....well I am not drinking it at home.

Ok, that is all I have to say!

Tuesday

It has been a very nice weekend. Saturday night I babysat for Sydney and Brenden. They were very good. All three of us were tired and we pretty much just layed on the couch and watched TV after dinner.
On Sunday I rode the light rail with Chris and Pris. The line starts at 19th ave and Bethany. This is the first phase, the second phase will be heading out to Metro (I think). Anyway, we were not the only People that thought it would be cool to do. It was quite busy and was standing room only all the way to downtown. We headed out to downtown Tempe and walked around and also had lunch at Monte's. It was a pretty good time and I think when not so many people are riding it it will be a good way to travel to Tempe or Downtown. Right now it does not do me alot of good cause I have to drive so far to get on it but someday it will be a really good mode of transportation for people.
Yesterday Chris and I stayed home all morning and cleaned and did laundry. In the afternoon we went to see Grand Torino. I thought it was great. Clint Eastwood was such a good old grouch and the two kids that played the Vietnamese kids next door were very good too. Chris liked it alot also.
Today I finished the laundry. Went grocery shopping and am now making meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Should be good.
I was going to go to the movies by myself but changed my mind. It was such a nice day I did not want to spend any of it in a dark theater.
Nancy and I are going to go to a wine tasting tomorrow night at Bacchus Wine Studio's. I thing that should be a good time. I am babysitting again on Thursday and Saturday and the following Wednesday. I am saving up lots of money right now for New York City in April plus I need to have extra for Chris' birthday next month. He will be 40. I want to get him something nice for this one. I might buy him a Wii because we were talking about getting one and I am sure he would love it if I spent my money on it. I want to have a little party with friends but he really does not hang out with anyone so it would be all my family and friends. Maybe just a nice dinner the two of us. I could try and get Rich and Kirk to do something and there is one guy he works with he likes alot.
I better figure it out cause it is just around the corner.

Saturday

I figured I better get on here and say something or I might lose my large blog audience.
Not much has been happening.
Chris and I went for a nice hike on Monday at Dreamy Draw park. It was really great out. My ears got a little cold but mostly it was warm enough for no jacket. I love that park. There are so many different trails back there you barely know you are in the city til you get a glimpse of the freeway in the distance. My legs had a nice little soreness afterward which always makes me feel good.
Tuesday I had another yoga class with Harmony. I really love doing that. She is such a great teacher plus I love her outlook on life. She is very positive and makes me feel positive when I am around her. I am hoping to have another session this coming week.
Last night on the way home I stopped at Walmart to get cat food and a bunch of other shit I had no plans on purchasing. I got home and realized they did not (I might have left them) put a whole bunch of stuff in my cart. Of course the cat food was in there. I have to go in this morning to get it. Luckily I still have dry food for my little babies to eat. I was not about to drive back there last night. so I will go on my way to work. They told me they have it in customer service.
I have to babysit for my little sweeties tonight. I have not seen them for awhile so it will be nice. I hope they are both in good moods.
This week I have finally started watching the third season of "Weeds" on DVD. Joe gave it to me for my birthday. It's a great show. It is a Showtime program and the seasons are short. I think there were only 15 episodes. Which I managed to watch in 4 days (hey, they are half hour shows!) Now I can't wait til season 4 comes out on DVD. Hopefully it will be soon cause I know they aired all the programs already.
Well that is all for now. I have to do my makeup and get ready for work. One more day and than three days off......I love my weekends!

Monday morning

Another day! Let's see what has been happening to me the last few days......................................................well, not much.
I did go to the movies yesterday with my friend Tammy. She is good to go to the movies with cause she likes to sit where I want to sit, she gets her own popcorn! My sister Pris is good to go with too. Ok, so I don't always prefer to go by myself.
We saw Marley and Me. It was a very cute little movie and I enjoyed it very much. I do think they really tried to get you to cry a bit much and it worked. It does make me want to get a dog....a little bit.
Other than that, I have not been doing much. I feel that the holidays are now official over and i have to get back to the swing of things. I have to get my ass back to that gym. No more wine during the week! I have no more excuses so I really do need to do this. I was going to go to spin this morning and did not, I am sitting here drinking coffee instead....not a good start!
Oh well, I am going to go wake Chris up and make him take me to breakfast. I want some eggs!

Friday

Good Morning.
Just a quick note before I go get ready for work. Yesterday was a very nice day. I did end up going to the movies yesterday morning. I saw "Doubt" with Meryl Streep and Phillip Seymore Hoffman. It was very good. Not super uplifting movie but very good. I think I could relate alot because I went to catholic school for a few years and I knew nuns like that.
We did not do much yesterday afternoon. Chris never even cooked. We just munched all day and I finished my book. I have a new one to start. I just got done with "Body Surfing" by Anita Shreve and I really did enjoy it so I picked up another one of her books I had on the shelf "Fortune Rocks". I seem to like her alot. I have read quite a few of her books. Some of my favorite books "Sea Glass" and "Light on Snow" were both written by her. I also read "Weight of water" which I was not so crazy about so I guess you never know.

2009

HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!

I have to say Chris and I had a very nice evening together last night. I got home around 4. I had gone to the store on my way home. I wanted to make an artichoke dip I had at Betty's on Christmas eve. Anyway, I made it from memory. I forgot the green chilies so I knew it was not going to taste the same but the big mistake I made was using Miracle whip instead of Mayonnaise. It did not taste bad but very different. It was a little too mayonnaisey......funny since I did not use any. The part that made me mad was I had some stupid mayonnaise in the refrigerator!!!! Oh well, it was fine. The good part was it was so rich we did not eat too much. Chris made steak and lobster. yum! We ended up going to bed around 8:30pm. We did not go to sleep right away, if you catch my meaning, which was also a very nice way to end the year. I was asleep by 10pm and did not see any of the tv coverage of the new year parties. I tried to watch Anderson Cooper because Kathy Griffin was hosting it with him but I have to say, I love her and think she is one of the funniest standup's around but she is not all that funny when she is doing stuff like that. She was kind of annoying! I turned of Tv and fell asleep until the cats woke me up around 11 cause they couldn't take it that I was actually trying to sleep in the room with Chris! When they are not happy about something they certainly let you know!
Chris is working til 1 today. I think I am going to go to the movies at 11am to see Doubt. It is playing up the street and I need to get my new Harkins tshirt (you get free popcorn all year when you buy one, it's only $20. so it pays for itself after about 4 movies cause frankly I don't go to the movies without eating popcorn....ever)
Fresh and Easy did not have pork roast and I did not feel like going to another store so we are having pork chops for dinner. Chris always saute's apples and onion to put on top of the chops and I will make mashed potatoes and green beans. It's not the same as what we had as a kid but it's damned good!
Well, I am off..........to drink more coffee!
